World of Warcraft: The War Within has launched—although, if you had enough dough to shell out for the early access, you've already been playing it for a few days. And while it's early on in the expansion's lifecycle (I'm about two-thirds of the way through the second zone myself, as a complete-all-side quests fiend) things seem to be going pretty well.
Lockpicking, or Dataspiking, is one of the most useful skills you can have in , but it can be just a bit tricky to get right. If you do, however, you will find the world filled with doors to open, boxes full of credits, and other kinds of loot to give you everything you want. With this skill mastered, you will be able to sneak into even the most dangerous syndicate hideout you can find.
Unlike most other Ubisoft games, or even most RPGs for that matter, you don’t level up and unlock skills as you would expect to in Star Wars Outlaws. You won’t earn any points or find a skill tree waiting for you here, but rather the new Experts system. As you explore the galaxy and meet new people while hunting for treasures, you will encounter special characters called Experts who are willing to help Kay expand her skills. Well, once you find and help them out, that is. Without their help, you’re stuck with your basic abilities for the whole game, so taking a break from your main quest to find them is well worth your time. World of Warcraft: The War Within, bar some iffy early access nonsense, appears to be landing pretty well—it's early days, mind, but Blizzard seems to have meant it when it comes to bolstering its evergreen systems, changing how it tells its story, and making Xal'atath into the scenery-chewing dramaturge perfect to kick off the Worldsoul Saga's chaos.
I won’t deny it: I really wasn’t that hyped for Star Wars: Outlaws when it was first announced. I’m a boring Star Wars fan: I want my sci-fi space operas to be filled with Jedi, preferably one I get to play. The idea of playing a gunslinging, stealthy scoundrel has never been on my checklist of “things to do in a galaxy far, far away.”
At the moment, Ubisoft Toronto is highly ambitious with the number of ongoing projects it has. This isn't limited to just the eagerly awaited Splinter Cell remake. It also includes the upcoming controversial game Star Wars: Outlaws, which is released on August 30. They are also working on the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake and, of course, the Splinter Cell remake.
