Quest Headsets Get New Feature, But Not for the Latest Model
Meta Quest is rolling out an update this month that will allow the headsets to be used while lying down. Unexpectedly, this will only be available for the Quest 2 and Pro, leaving the latest headset, the Quest 3, out in the cold. The update also introduces Quest Cash, a form of currency that will give headset owners a new way to manage their spending in the VR and AR world.

Dusk wasn't originally supposed to get a full graphical remaster just five years after launch. In its initial reveal at the 2022 PC Gaming show, New Blood head honcho Dave Oshry called it an update «nobody asked for, so we're doing it anyway,» and the «HD» moniker for the tastefully updated weapon and enemy models was really more of a bit. Hell, the guy who made most of it wasn't even a professional developer at that point: «I saw the trailer for Dusk HD and was like, 'Oh, haha, Dusk but HD, what a joke,'» David «Garumin» Bonin told me in a recent interview.

Update: Well, here’s a weird one – apparently this update accidentally gave players access to Spider-Man 2’s developer debug mode. Insomniac is warning that entering debug mode could corrupt saves, although playing as normal shouldn’t cause an issue (you need to enter a button combination to activate debug mode). Needless to say, Insomniac will likely be patching up this whoopsie soon, but they may have opened up a bit of a Pandora’s box.
