Hidetaka Miyazaki says Shadow of the Erdtree had to be big, because he wanted Elden Ring players 'to experience that sense of discovery and that sense of wonder' all over again

I'm going to let you in on a little secret: FromSoftware has been playing coy about the size of Shadow of the Erdtree, the Elden Ring expansion now more than two years in the making. In past interviews the developer has suggested it's roughly the size of Limgrave, the starting area in the base game. Maybe even a little bigger. But I spent a full day playing Shadow of the Erdtree at FromSoftware's offices in Tokyo last month, and I can assure you that estimate is sneakily setting the studio up to underpromise and overdeliver.

'The Flame is lit': Dark Souls is getting a new manga and all I'm hoping for is something more horrifying than Elden Ring's one

Dark Souls is getting a new manga. There are already quite a few mangas and comics based on the grisly soulsborne game, but here's hoping that this one finally makes use of all the horrifying creatures that lurk in this world.

Fiery Karlach Cosplay Perfectly Captures The BG3 Tiefling Going Into A Rage

Everyone’s favorite fiery tiefling has been shown plenty of love since released (even if the developers rudely left her out of the game’s cover art). Karlach has seen plenty of well-done cosplays honoring her muscles and heated passion, but few manage to capture her raging as well as this one.

We've got our hands on AMD Strix Point and Granite Ridge, and they're both so pretty

CPUs don't normally look very cool, even the biggest and best gaming processors you can buy. That's because the chips are hidden underneath a thick heat spreader or, in the case of laptops, totally covered by a big heatsink. So to get a look at what the processors actually look like, you usually have to rely on the chip makers providing images of them. Well, AMD decided it would do one better than that and literally just stick the raw CPUs in our hands for us, and now you, to gaze at.

Valve has now filed for a trademark for Deadlock, the hero shooter it refuses to admit exists

Deadlock is a hero shooter that both does and does not exist, which is to say that we've all seen it and talked about it, and plenty of people have played it and are likely playing it at this moment, but Valve has steadfastly refused to acknowledge that anyone is even paying attention to it, much less that it's something currently in development, thus leaving it in a suspended state not unlike, say, a metaphorical cat in a box. But now Deadlock does not exist slightly less than it did not exist yesterday, because Valve has applied for a trademark on the name.

Google seemingly leaked a treasure trove of technical search algorithm details by accident and now SEO people are getting real aggro

Around 2,500 technical documents detailing the nuts and bolts of Google's ranking algorithms have apparently leaked. If the documents are real, it's an unprecedented look into the workings of the utterly dominant internet search engine. And one hell of an error, because it is stated that Google itself published the documents to GitHub before taking them down. But nothing published to the web disappears overnight, and the documents have been kept for posterity elsewhere.
