Final Fantasy 14 won't let you blast past its story for free anytime soon because Yoshi-P worried 'the value of the game itself will be diminished'

Final Fantasy 14 is getting to be a mighty long game. With one base game, four expansions and a fifth one on the way, I don't think it's too out there to reckon that you'd be spending a good 300 — 400 hours ploughing through the story alone.

Yoshi-P really wants Final Fantasy 14 to have more crossover content with Final Fantasy 7, but he's waiting for the remakes to wrap up first

Final Fantasy 14 has a lot of neat nods and callbacks to the rest of the series. From the Final Fantasy 3-inspired Crystal Tower raid series to crossover events with entries like Final Fantasy 13 and 15, the MMO serves as a great homage to Square Enix's library of RPG classics.

The original artist behind Minecraft's pixel art recalls Notch asking them to help out on his 'weird indie hobby game'

Helldivers 2's latest major order gives players the chance to permanently rid a sector of bugs with a planet-sized pesticide system

Earlier today Helldivers 2 called in pest control and took care of a big bug problem. The quick version is that the game had been spawning in some of its most heavily armored Terminids right on top of players, everything from bile titans to chargers to annihilator tanks, which gave the Helldivers in question little time to respond before they were slashed, melted, crunched, and generally battered.

Microsoft says AI data privacy lawsuit 'devotes 198 pages to doomsday hyperbole about AI as a threat to civilization'

An official Cult of the Lamb comic was funded in just 6 minutes, and I'm getting serious FOMO from the limited-time donator bonuses

Final Fantasy 7 masterpiece mod turns Aerith Gainsborough into Aerith Gains Bro

The best modders are people of singular vision, absolute purpose, and indefatigable ambition. Promethean thought leaders who—unbound by the petty mores of polite society and the dictates of the market—use every tool they have at hand to forge new frontiers in technology and culture.

Team Fortress 2 voice actors perform 'Sandvich Blues', a sorrowful ode to a lost lunch

Team Fortress 2 was released in 2007 and since then has had a unique afterlife. Partly that's down to the sheer quality of the game which, post-launch tweaks and additions aside, arrived perfectly formed, with an ageless aesthetic and an anarchically funny approach to world-building. Each of its nine characters is composed of their look, a handful of voice lines, and a 'Meet the Team' vignette. But from these elements, Valve's designers and the actors involved have crafted ornery archetypes that stood the test of time.
