A year and a half after its bitter breakup with NetEase, Blizzard has reportedly made a new deal to bring its games back to China—with NetEase

After being gone for more than a year, it looks like Blizzard's biggest games are on the cusp of returning to China. Researcher and analyst CN Wire and the South China Morning Post have both reported that a new deal between Blizzard and NetEase, its former publishing partner in the country, is expected to be announced as soon as tomorrow.

World of Warcraft Classic continues to speedrun history with Cataclysm launching next month

World of Warcraft Classic has officially looped all the way back around to the very expansion that, in many ways, sparked the desire for it to exist in the first place. On May 20, Cataclysm Classic will release and move WoW Classic into a new era that is ironically similar to the live version of WoW.

EA's Iron Man game is making 'excellent progress' but still sounds like it's a long way off

EA Motive studio director Patrick Klaus has written about what's going on at the studio in an update post that touches on both the studio's upcoming Iron Man game and the wider situation with the Battlefield series. What we already know about the Iron Man game is what you'd expect. EA calls it a «third-person, action adventure» featuring «an original narrative that taps into the rich history of Iron Man, channeling the complexity, charisma, and creative genius of Tony Stark, and enabling players to feel what it's like to truly play as Iron Man.»

Total War: Warhammer 3's Thrones of Decay reveal has finally made me excited about the game again

Total War: Warhammer 3 has been in a weird place for a while, with 2023's experimental Shadows of Change DLC being so poorly received that Creative Assembly ended up reworking the whole thing and giving out freebies in the form of new lords. Things have been steadily improving, though, and with the reveal of Thrones of Decay they're poised to get even better—if CA sticks the landing.

Sonic co-creator found guilty of insider trading breaks silence to accuse Square Enix producer of being 'the kind of person who would submit lies to court'

Sonic co-creator Yuji Naka has had something of a varied career since leaving Sega, initially focusing on his own company Prope before teaming up with Square Enix to direct the ill-fated Balan Wonderworld. The latter wasn't a great game, and ever since release Naka and the publisher have been engaged in something of a moral blame game, as well as a wider war of words sparked by an insider trading case brought against Naka and two other Square Enix employees in 2022.

Dr. Disrespect calls Twitch 'slithery disgusting purple snakes' but still doesn't explain why he was permanently banned from the platform

Four years ago Twitch permanently banned Dr. Disrespect, who at the time was one of the platform's biggest and most recognisable stars. The Amazon-owned streaming platform has had various fallouts with high-profile users over the years, the difference being that when it comes to someone like xQc we know the reasons behind the split (in that case, lots of gambling). With Dr. Disrespect almost nothing is known about what caused such a breach, and the streamer's subsequent choice to take legal action (settled in 2022) means everyone involved has stayed tight-lipped.

Soulslike shooter Witchfire gets massive early access update: New classes, content, events, and they finally fixed Calamities

Rather than going off on a tangent about how good Painkiller is (it's really good), I will open by simply saying that Witchfire, the new shooter from The Astronauts—founded in 2012 by the co-founders of People Can Fly—is really good too, but also very different: Studio co-founder and creative director Adrian Chmielarz said in 2023 that Witchfire is "much closer to Souls" than straight-up shooters like Doom, and having played it a good bit myself, I can say that's absolutely correct.

Helldivers 2 player infects a Super Earth news broadcast with an Automaton diss track—and it can actually be translated into English, thanks to advancements in R&D

So, the Automatons are back in Helldivers 2. We thought we'd eradicated them but somehow, they've returned—grabbing the planet Cyberstan in their pneumatic claws before sweeping across the northwestern sector of the galaxy.
