Ted Litchfield in gaming news

The original Fallout had so much attention to detail, you could get special dialogue for speedrunning it in a weird order and returning to a completed zone to talk to a zombie who hates you

Like PC Gamer print editor Robert Jones, my big reaction to the Fallout show has been getting classic with it, replaying the 1997 original for the first time in over a decade. It more than holds up in so many ways, including accounting for player choices so deranged, you wonder how anyone came across them organically.

Finally, I have another game about being a freaky little nasty guy trapped in an otherworldly hell dimension to look forward to

With how advanced 3D graphics have gotten, I wish we'd use these rendering techniques to get more freaky with it, ya dig? Alan Wake 2's funky lighting and lightning quick loading really scratched that itch for me last year, but 2022's Scorn is really what I'm talkin' about: a sickening fever dream that could only be brought to life in a game. Now it looks like we're getting our first Scornlike in Necrophosis.

The season of game company gaffes continues with NetEase apologizing for a Marvel Rivals preview contract that asked streamers not to make 'subjective negative reviews of the game'

Publisher NetEase has walked back a controversial «non-disparagement» requirement for streamers and video makers previewing its upcoming hero shooter Marvel Rivals. Just one day after prominent streamer Brandon «Seagull» Larned criticized the contract on Twitter, NetEase made a statement on the game's Discord and to PCGamesN that it would be amending the contract.

Ghost of Tsushima's PC port has been delisted in nearly 200 countries and territories without PSN access, even though most of the game won't require a sign-in

Mirroring Helldivers 2's continued regional delisting woes, the upcoming PC port of Sucker Punch's 2020 historical samurai slice 'em up, Ghost of Tsushima, has been removed from sale on Steam and other PC storefronts in nearly 200 countries and territories that are not served by Sony's PlayStation Network.

Warner Bros. has decided not to take its ball and go home with Adult Swim Games, instead returning control to their original developers

Remember how Warner Bros. was fixing to permanently send Adult Swim Games' entire catalogue of indies to the Shadow Realm because it would have been too much of a pain to keep processing the devs' royalty checks? Well it looks like that fate's been averted, with the games remaining up on Steam and their creators saying that they've been handed back full control.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, one of my favorite recent CRPGs, is getting a monster farewell DLC in the style of Mass Effect 3's Citadel add-on

Even with its hands full on Warhammer 40K CRPG Rogue Trader, Owlcat Games has found time to add a ton of substantial DLC to its 2021 RPG epic, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Now WotR is set to get its swan song on June 13 with A Dance of Masks, a massive new epilogue chapter to the main game.

Helldivers 2 remains delisted in 177 countries and territories even as Sony backs down on PSN requirement, Arrowhead CEO says 'I won't rest in my desire to have it available everywhere'

There was understandably much rejoicing in the Helldivers 2 community when Sony backed down on its controversial PlayStation Network account linking requirement, but there's also been a curious snag: the game remains delisted from sale on Steam in a collection of 177 countries and territories that aren't served by PSN.
