Elon Musk returns to his ultimate galaxy brain plan for Twitter: charging people to post

Billionaire and full-time troll Elon Musk has trailed his latest idea for X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, and it's an absolute doozy. To briefly set the scene, Musk bought Twitter for roughly $44 billion in 2022, following a protracted saga that threatened to end up in court. Following the purchase Musk laid off a ton of staff, made verification a paid-for service, and has presided over a notable influx of bot activity (replies on the site are an utter mess).

Fan project to revive LawBreakers gets Cliff Bleszinski's backing, as he eyes the prize of somehow getting Nexon interested: 'That's what I'm hoping for'

Released in 2017, Lawbreakers was the first game from the now-defunct Boss Key Productions, a studio founded by Cliff Bleszinski following his departure from Epic Games. It was a high-speed, high-skill FPS that slotted neatly into the Unreal Tournament lineage but, despite being really rather good, lasted barely a year before going offline forever.

One of Elden Ring's nastiest bosses still has an invisible tail left over from the Dark Souls freak whose assets he's built on

Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree expansion (due June 20th) is currently looming large over my gaming time, inspiring the urge to return to The Lands Between and hoover up everything I missed in my first playthrough. There's plenty to be getting on with, because not only is this world vast but absolutely riddled with secrets both above and below the surface—including the dead hand of annoying Soulsborne bosses past.

Helldivers 2 dev says melee weapons are a 'plausible' addition but they won't be Star Wars lightsabers: 'we don't want to be Fortnite'

Helldivers 2 has emerged as one of the year's standout titles, not least because it's been supported post-launch in a highly unusual fashion. The distinctive element is that developer Arrowhead clearly prepared to go full-bore on the game's promise of an unfolding galactic war by having a whole bunch of significant additions and assets ready to go.

WoW's Pandaria Remix feels like it's emerged from an extended Pandaren brew session in the dev room

The WoW expansion Mists of Pandaria, initially released in 2011, built out a faction and region of Azeroth that had been a part of Warcraft since 2003: essentially, boozed-up kung fu pandas. It's definitely one of my favourite expansions purely for the change in tone it brought to the game, and now Blizzard has announced a time-limited event called WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria is under development, and it looks… well, it looks like someone's been on the panda brew.

Japanese cops bust interior decorator that moonlighted selling hacked Pokémon: 'I did it to make a living'

A 36 year-old man from Kyoto Prefecture has been arrested by Japanese police for creating and selling rare varieties of Pokémon online. Yoshihiro Yamakawa, an interior decorator by trade, used an unspecified modification device to alter the stats and characteristics of Pokémon in the popular Nintendo Switch title Pokémon Violet before offering them for sale, in an alleged violation of Japan's Unfair Competition Act.

WoW made a big boi ludicrously hard to get then, after 0.24% of the playerbase managed it, made it smaller—'Blizzard literally stole half my dog'

In recent expansions, Blizzard has given World of Warcraft players a meta-goal to pursue after running through all the usual stuff. It's basically an achievement that needs a boatload of other achievements to pop, a badge that says you've done everything, and it comes complete with a prize.

EA's Iron Man game is making 'excellent progress' but still sounds like it's a long way off

EA Motive studio director Patrick Klaus has written about what's going on at the studio in an update post that touches on both the studio's upcoming Iron Man game and the wider situation with the Battlefield series. What we already know about the Iron Man game is what you'd expect. EA calls it a «third-person, action adventure» featuring «an original narrative that taps into the rich history of Iron Man, channeling the complexity, charisma, and creative genius of Tony Stark, and enabling players to feel what it's like to truly play as Iron Man.»
