Assassin’s Creed Shadows Is Reportedly Getting a Co-Op Mode Post-Launch

Assassin's Creed Shadows will be updated post-launch with a cooperative multiplayer mode. The rumor comes from Tom Henderson, who has proven to be very reliable regarding Ubisoft games. According to Henderson, the mode is currently codenamed LEAGUE and was in development even before the recent delay.

The insider did not provide any further details on the mode, although he underlined that this won't be the online cooperative multiplayer experience coming to the franchise. Assassin's Creed Invictus, which is supposed to be a dedicated multiplayer game, is due to launch next year as well. As they go through the rounds, players can select different powers to create a build. The gameplay is said to be arcade-style, featuring elements like a bubble shield similar to Super Smash Bros and a distant camera. Maps will be based on areas from previous Assassin's Creed games, and the only known playable characters so far are Ezio and Cesare Borgia.

Needless to say, a lot of Ubisoft's future hinges on the success of Assassin's Creed Shadows, especially after several less-than-successful game
