Xiaomi 15 Launch Teaser Reveals The Actual Name Of The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, And It Is More Consistent With Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite

Qualcomm was believed to stick with a chronological naming scheme for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, making it a better representation of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 successor. However, thanks to a Xiaomi 15 launch teaser, we have learned what could be the official name of the upcoming SoC, and just to give you a hint, it is similar to the Snapdragon X Elite found in various Windows-powered notebooks.

Snapdragon 8 Elite to be the official name of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, with Qualcomm possibly dropping the chronological name schemes from hereon

We speculate that like the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, Qualcomm would have prepared a slower version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and it might sport the name ‘Snapdragon 8 Plus.’ We might also have to prepare ourselves for a different chipset name for Samsung’s Galaxy S25 family, as all three
