Helldivers 2 only became a live-service game halfway through development, but 'feels like what live service was born to do'

Russ Nickel, former lead writer of Helldivers 2, was recently interviewed by Inverse, where he explained that developers Arrowhead didn't decide it was going to be a service game until well after beginning work on it. Its popularity sure suggests it was the right call to make. «This feels like what live service was born to do», Nickel said. «For a while, Arrowhead didn't know if the sequel was going to be a live-service title. Red Dead Redemption 2 Now Has A Different Ending

is an epic story in the most literal sense of the world but those who find the fate of Arthur Morgan a little too depressing are in luck because a happier fate can now await the outlaw. Ghost of Tsushima Delisted from Steam in PSN-less Areas Despite Singleplayer Not Needing It

Sigh… here we go again. We just got through a major brouhaha involving Sony requiring PSN linking for Helldivers 2 after initially not asking for it at launch, which led to a major backlash and review bombing campaign and, eventually, Sony reversing course. While some would say the reaction was rather overblown, one of the issues was that a number of countries in the world simply don’t have access to PSN, which led to Helldivers 2 being delisted in those regions (in fact, even Sony’s after reversal on the issue, they’re still delisted).
