The designer of mobile hits Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride is making a deep-sea Lovecraftian horror game

In the early 2010s, Luke Muscat was team lead on two massive mobile games for Halfbrick Studios—the WarioWare microgame turned macrohit Fruit Ninja, and endless runner Jetpack Joyride. A decade later he's gone solo, and is making an indie game for PC that looks like a cross between Dave the Diver and Dome Keeper.

'The repeated targeting of individual team members needs to stop': OldSchool Runescape devs firmly ask players to cool it over Tormented Demon loot tables

I have a lot of sympathy for the perils of game development. Chief among them is the terror of having to not only get feedback, but filter it: Getting into spats over balance tweaks, the difficulties of community management, and sometimes dealing with actual threats that need police intervention. Capcom's somehow come up with the *deep breath* Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Digital Deluxe edition

Last week Capcom announced Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, a remake of the brilliant 2006 zombie smashing open-mall game in the publisher's RE Engine, and now it's released some more detail alongside the news we'll be playing it sooner than some perhaps thought: Big Frank returns to Willamette on September 19, 2024.

Xiaomi Mi Curved Gaming Monitor 34 review

Curves, eh? Curves, curves, curves. Not only is an opening like that going to bring in traffic from the seedier corners of Google search results, but it sums up the way your brain works when you're faced with a curved monitor. Unless you've been using one for some time, it's hard to sit in front of a curved monitor, even one as gentle as this one, the Xiaomi G34WQi, and see anything but the curve. The BBC dons its game dev cap to combine 2 things I fear and don't understand: The UK General Election and Roblox

In the ultimate team-up of 'things I dread the societal consequences of', the UK General Election is coming to Roblox. It's courtesy of the BBC, and is meant to serve as «an engaging and fun way to learn more about the country’s election whilst interacting with [the BBC's] top political experts.» Naturally, it's been set up to coincide with the upcoming election on July 4, the first one the UK has had since, let me see, three prime ministers ago.

Deep Rock Galactic now has its own official heavy metal song, called—you guessed it—Rock and Stone

After years of gleefully saying «Rock and Stone!» to each other, Deep Rock Galactic fans can now finally sing it too. Italian metal band Wind Rose have collaborated with the DRG team to produce a song named for the iconic catchphrase, with a delightfully weird music video.

The Helldivers smash their latest MO and for some reason have taken against anti-tank mines, but 'can finally go back to killing bugs in good conscience'

Helldivers 2 may have slowed the pace of updates after a breakneck launch period, but that hasn't meant a pause in the ongoing galactic war and the major orders that herd these overarmed cats around their target planets. The latest focused on liberating X-45, apparently home to a mysterious «interplanetary battle station», with over half the player base at any given time pouring in there to give the Automatons a bullet buffet—and we did it.

Trust me, you should rewatch the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree cinematic trailer after beating the expansion

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree's cinematic trailer dropped exactly a month before the expansion's release, and the collective response was about what you would expect: «This is rad, but I have no idea what's going on.» Now, though? Well I have kind of an idea what's going on after spending 80 hours or so in the DLC, and it's all about as grim and unsettling as you'd expect.
