series has a number of iconic pieces of iconography, from Link's green hat to the Triforce of Courage. However, perhaps none are more legendary than the Master Sword, a powerful blade that Link wields in the name of protecting Zelda, Hyrule, and the innocent people at the mercy of Ganondorf's wrath. Naturally, considering its status as a legendary weapon in the gaming zeitgeist, many will likely wonder whether it pops up in .
While the Master Sword is typically used by Link,deviates from the expected tropes of the series, and instead ushers in a fresh new age of unique mechanics and, of course, Zelda's own perspective. Naturally, this would lead to many believing that Zelda may finally get a chance to whack Moblins with the Master Sword, even getting her very own spin attack. However, most of the promotional material has shown her with a very handy staff capable of shooting out snakes, making it unclear whether the Master Sword appears at all.
Link does not wield the Master Sword in at any point in the game, despite it being such an iconic weapon and having appeared in numerous games in the franchise. Instead, Link uses the Sword of Might, which has his name carved onto it and was crafted by Lueburry. Unfortunately, Zelda doesn't get the Master Sword at a later stage, meaning it simply does not appear at all, although this isn't surprising considering place in the series.
The Master Sword, in the way that players know it, was introduced in, and did not appear in the first two entries. However, there was a weapon called the Magical Sword, which was largely the same.
This isn't particularly uncommon for games, as Link has, on occasion, just had a regular sword or another named-blade and not the iconic Master Sword, such as in the very first game.
