One player has shared how using amiibo to invite a villager to their island results in a very interesting feature that should help with any regret after kicking a villager from an island. While most Easter eggs are just there for the fun of it, some such as this can make the game itself a bit more engaging.

As explained by Redditor Searching-For-Home,players who invite a villager who used to live on their island back via an amiibo card will find the villager remembers them. This is in contrast to removing a villager from an island, and then running into them again on a deserted island, where they will no longer remember the player.

The user shared their experience with an ex- villager's amiibo on Reddit after they invited the Egyptian-style cat villager Ankha to the game's café, The Roost, for a coffee. During the chat, Ankha expresses her delight at seeing the player.
